Sue Bell Cobb addresses media following primary loss

Tuesday Sue Bell Cobb suffered defeat at the polls. Going into the primary election the former Alabama Chief Justice believed with 6 democratic candidates for Governor a runoff was inevitable.

Just after shortly after this race was called in Walt Maddox favor, Cobb addressed the media. She thanked her husband, daughter, and her supporters. She says she did call to congratulate Maddox and let him know she is looking for Democratic victory in November as he faces Republican candidate Kay Ivey.

“It is time for all Democrats to unite and to work as one towards an Alabama that we can be proud of and not embarrassed by. It’s time for each of us to look within and see the passion and the energy that we have to launch our state so that we can become the envy of the south," said Sue Bell Cobb.

Sue Bell Cobb believes it is imperative for the next governor to have a number of characteristics including transparency. This is why she put her for support behind Walt Maddox and is urging other democratic voters to do the same.
